Lake Powell

We took a trip to Lake Powell at the first of the summer. It was a little cold the first couple of days, but then it warmed up. We had a great time. This was Lily's first time there, but it reminded her a lot of the beach so she felt right at home.

Lily new she wasn't aloud in the lake so she found her own way of getting in the water. She found a bucket of water that we would rinse are feet off in before getting on the houseboat. She turned it into her own personal swimming pool.

We blew up a pool so the little ones could play. Lily loved playing with her cousins. The little boy is my nephew Mac. The little girl is my cousins daughter Elle. We miss being around family, but we are so grateful for vacations. Not having family around really makes you appreciate them. I'm so glad Lily has opportunities like this one to spend time with cousins and build friendships like I have with my relatives.

Lily found a love for chips this trip. She wasn't feeling the best. The only thing she would eat were chips. When she started feeling better it felt like everytime I turned around this is what I found.

Chad's Graduation

I am so proud of Chad. He graduated from Law School. It was a long, tough two years, but we did it. He worked so hard and it paid off. Chad I love you and I am so happy for you. Thank you for working so hard for our family. I know you are going to be a great Lawyer.

This is where Chad spent the past two years. Living in this cubicle. He spent some pretty long nights here. Do you miss it babe?

This was the day before he graduated. The school had a get together. Lily found a way to entertain herself. She found the perfect spot to sit and her her cookies.

These are Chad's Law buddies. Tom, Cory, and Ali. These guys saw Chad a lot more then I did. We sure are going to miss the friends that we made while going to school.

We had a Easter Party over at our friends house the Eav's. They have the best yard well the only one of our friends that has a yard in L.A. It was so fun getting together with friends and watching the kids play and have fun together. Lily caught on to the Easter Hunt pretty good. We had eggs everywhere. Lily was really excited to eat the candy, maybe to excited she missed the whole taking off the wrapper thing.

Is this A Girl

I can't remember where we were going, but this is how she is. She has to have a pretty on which is her bow, sometimes a necklace other times a bracelet depends on the day. I love it the only thing she doesn't like wearing is dresses. I can handle that because I don't like wearing them either. She thinks she's pretty hot stuff.

Fresh Start

So I know it has been a while. You know when you get behind you lose your motivation because you know how much you need to do. Well we have been pretty crazy. Chad finished school and we went on a vacation. When we got home from that we moved up to Carson City, NV. Chad is working for one of the Justices of the Nevada Supreme Court. It has been an adjustment moving from L.A. Plus leaving family and friends. Now that we are settled here I am going to be getting caught up on my blogging. I know a lot of you have stopped looking because nothing was ever new. I'm starting fresh so everyone can see how are little family is doing in Carson City.

Got Caught

When Chad is home from school he always keeps his backpack on the floor by the table. One of Lily's favorite things is going over to the bag and pulling out all of Chad's highlighters and pens in his side pocket and putting them on the ledge of this window. I have no idea what is so fun about it, but she could do it all day.

Reading Already

Are cute little girl loves to have us read her stories. I guess this time she wanted to try it on her own.

My Little Witch

I was wrapping a gift and ran out of wrapping paper. Lily took the tube of cardboard and was playing with it. I didn't really think much of it. When I finished and cleaning everything up I wanted to throw the tube away. I look in our bathroom and there's Lily stiring her pot of brew. She entertains me everyday. I love being a mom!

Look a Little Closer

I was in my bedroom making the bed. I came out into the front room and found something different with Lily. Look close you may see that she has an extra something where she shouldn't. Some how she put my cell phone down her pants. I was laughing so hard. I had to stop and take a picture. She was just walking around drinking her bottle like nothing was wrong.

One Year Pictures

Lily's Rash

Lily had her one year check up and shots. When we went to the doctor she had her first ear infection. The doctor started her on amoxicillin. She finished that. A few days later she broke out in this rash. It started out really light and got worse. It was so sad to see my little girl like this. I took her back to the doctor and they said that she had a reaction to her MMR shot. It took about a week to clear up. I hated that I couldn't so anything for her. I also was so worried as it progressed and didn't get better. It seemed like every morning it was worse, and I couldn't do anything for her. As a parent your children look to you for protection and comfort. I felt so helpless. I did everything I could we just had to wait. I wanted to cry everytime she looked up at me with her red face. I'm so glad that she recovered.

Lily Turned One

Lily had a birthday. I was up in Utah visiting family. Chad wasn't able to be there because of school. As you are looking there are no pictures of Chad. We sure did miss him. Lily didn't want anything to do with her birthday. She started crying when we sang to her. She didn't want to wear her birthday crown. She didn't even want to touch her cake. She started out just picking at it, then she went to town on it. When she couldn't get it off her hands she was done. We love having Lily. She is so much fun. She makes me laugh everyday. We are just little buddies. Happy Birthday Lily.

Has a little Zing

I was doing the dishes and I realized that I hadn't heard Lily in a while. That usually isn't a good sign. Usually it is pulling on the toliet paper or putting things in the toilet. Well I started saying her name an no answer. We only have two rooms that she could go into. I couldn't find her in either room. I started looking everywhere. Well I found her on the other side of our bed which we never use. The wall in on an angle so it gets smaller as you get closer to the top of the bed. There she was sitting tucked up at the top chewing on Chad's cell phone charger. I snapped the pictured and then realized it was plugged into the wall and thought she was getting electricuted. I pulled it out of her mouth. I put it into mine to see what it felt like. Just incase you were wondering it has a little zing to it. Not to bad though I don't know why she liked it.

Sleep Tight

I love going in and looking at Lily sleep. I think I also do it because I get nervous. I'm sure all kids sleep like this, but Lily loves to jam her head up into the corner and I'm worried that she is going to sufficate. She moves around like crazy and never keeps her covers on too. So between freezing to death and not breathing I have to go in and check on her. Call me paranoid. They are so sweet when they sleep.

Kick'in Back

You have days sometimes when you just don't want to get dressed and you want to just relax in your robe right. Well Chad and I have some days like that. Well Lily was feeling left out so we put her robe on and just let her play around with her toys.

Crazy Hair

This is the day after Christmas. She was pretty excited to go play with her new toys. I love going into her room in the morning. She is always so happy and ready to get out. the best part about it though is her bedhead. It can get pretty crazy sometimes. She doesn't have a lot of hair on the sides so everything just sticks up on top and looks like a mohawk. I love it.

Lily's First Christmas

We spent Christmas wit Chad's family this year. We had so much fun watching Lily open her gifts. She loved putting the rings on the stick. Well maybe just in her mouth. Santa also brought Lily a Little Mermaid train that she could push around. When you honk the horn it plays "Under The Sea" she loves that and pushes it all the time. The minute we unwrapped it she got a hold of the handle and took off pushing it around.

Thanksgiving

Lily loves her cousins. It was so fun to have them all down here. We are also so lucky to have my cousin Ryan and his wife Holly and there little girl Aspen move in to the same complex as us. It has been so fun and nice to have some family close. She loved pushing her cousin Mac in the swing. We actually weren't sure if she liked pushing him or if she was wanting to get in. My mom was so great to bring a bunch of snacks down. Lily loved the crackers and figured out how to get them out of the box they were in. We couldn't keep her away from the box.

It was so fun to have my family down here. We had wall to wall areobeds, but it was a blast. We took my family to Santa Monica Pier. We walked down to the end and watched the sun set. Then we went to the rides and all the boys tried to climb this rope ladder. It was hilarious watching all of them try to make it to the top. None of them got very far, but we had a good laugh.

What a Binki

Let me first say that Lily hasn't liked her binki. I tried to give it to her when she was little but it wasn't to successful. A couple of days before my family came down. I was doing some things around the house. I hadn't heard Lily babbling so I started saying her name. I still couldn't find her. Are place isn't that big so I was pretty confused on where she could be. Finally I found her sitting almost under her rocking chair sucking on a binki and had one in her mouth. I don't no where she found them I thought I got rid of all of them. I went to get my camera and by then she had moved into the front room. Ever since that day she has not let go of her binki. She has to have one by her side. It's the funiest thing.

Sweetest Thing

My family is coming down for Thanksgiving. I can't wait. I just came home from the store and found Chad and Lily taking a little nap together. I love coming home to such a sweet sight. There are so many things that she does that makes my heart flutter, but seeing her sleeping with her dad, I think is one of the best things to see. It just makes your heart go flip flop.

Lily Bug

For Halloween our stake had a trunk or treat. It was so fun getting together with friends and seeing all there cute kids dressed up and so excited about it. Lily was a Lady Bug and she looked so cute. She actually liked wearing it. I thought for sure that she would want to pull it right off.
